How Did We Get Here?

How did we get here?

From the wedding halls to the courtrooms

From the altars to the docks

From the priest’s solemnization to the judge’s verdict

Just how did we get here…?

How did we get here?

From hearts bubbling with expectations for the future to those shrinking with hatred of the past

From the mesmerizing gazes to half-hearted stares

From love filled hearts to those void of emotions

Just how did we get here…?

How did we get here?

Is the query my heart continually asks

Just how…exactly did love become hatred?

Can someone tell me why?

Just how did they forget what made them decide to spend forever together

“Till death do us part” suddenly lost all meaning to them?

Did they actually mean it when they said “I do”?

“In sickness and in health,in poverty and in wealth”

Or were they just saying empty meaningful words?

They seemed so perfect together

Just how did we get here?

In my search for answers, I asked sages

I emptied the oceans and the rivers hoping I would find a clue

I went to the archives and the libraries…

THEN… I found something in the pages of the Scroll. It read:

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and bauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, drunkenness, orgies and the like, I warn as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians5:19-21(KJV)

I did not seem to get it but it further read:

But the Spirit produces in us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians5:22

Then, I just found out how…I saw the path that leads to divorce….

A life that is sold to the flesh will only do the cravings of the flesh

No matter how moral upright such a life is.

A man or woman that is not born again cannot in any wise cope with the challenges of marriage

It is not a bed of roses…

It is not a stroll but a walk…a walk for life!

I cry to the younger ones this day!

Listen to the voice of wisdom…

“Love” is fleeting, beauty is vain… what matters is who resides in your heart.

Only the Holy Spirit can produce love in any human…

Don’t walk in the path of life with someone whose heart is void of Christ

My heart breaks at the rate of divorce these days.

Together, we can do this! Let’s work for a divorceless society!
