About Pelumi

A skilled international development professional and policy researcher, Pelumi’s professional experience spans across policy design and implementation, communications, and international business development. She has worked extensively across Sub-Saharan Africa, delivering value to international organizations, businesses and services that integrate social impact, economic prosperity and business growth. Among others, she has worked with DAI Global LLC, Genesis Energy, Global Affairs Canada and the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

A prolific writer and storyteller with full bilingual capacities in French and English, She is an outstanding Communications for Development specialist. In her role as Communications Specialist with DAI Global LLC and the West Africa Think Tank, she led on communications product development and management.

Founder of Teens Going for Gold Network, an organization that provides teenagers across Nigeria with 21st century relevant learning experiences, she also co-founded Social Good Lagos, a UN-Foundation backed not-for-profit that explores the potentials of technology and new media to accelerate the attainment of the SDGs in Nigeria. In both roles, she cumulatively garnered over a decade of experience in project management and leadership experience within the development and international non-profit space.

A PhD Candidate in Development Studies at SOAS, University of London, she is currently a Visiting Research Scholar at the Centre for Democracy and Development. Her current research focuses on  experiences and perspectives of women in conflicts and transitional justice processes. Her writings have been published by the West Africa Think Tank, the Institute of Security Studies, Premium Times, Daily Trust among others
